Brent was born November 19, 1960 in Ogden, UT to Vangel and Jay Thurgood . Brent was born into a motorcycle racing family and was riding by the age of four. He was a strong competitor and always the one to beat. Although he kept his competitive spirit, he traded motorcycles for mules, horses and 4-wheelers. He was happily married to Julie Gallegos Thurgood on August 19, 1979. She truly was the love of his life. They raised their children; Ashley, Tyler and Cameron along with countless pets and animals in Salt Lake City, UT before discovering their lives in Grand Junction, CO.
Brent was an avid hunter, guide, houndsman, rancher and cowboy. He was among the few that are fortunate enough to live his dream as a wildlife habitat engineer, a term he would smile at today. He lived outdoors, among the elk, deer, mountain lions, and bear; enhancing nature’s offerings with his hard work. He had such a playful personality and an uncanny ability to charm and entertain anyone he met. He was a loyal human being and always willing to take the time to help a friend. Brent was a wonderful husband, father and a role model for his family. He will be greatly missed
He is survived by his wife Julie, children Ashley, Tyler and Cameron, his mother Vangel Thurgood and his siblings Kent and Medeet Thurgood, Carl and SuzanneThurgood, David and Kim Thurgood, June and Roy Miller, in-laws Carlos and Lily Gallegos, Ashlee Smith, Vicki Hernandez, Mercedes Cameron, Bert Nieslanik and many friends.
